Experience the works of the undiscovered American Artist,
Like many artists, still lifes were a great way for Art to explore differences in lighting, material and reflections.
The Carroll County Farm Museum located nearby his home in Maryland became a popular subject for many of his works
Landscapes were his most popular subject. Some featuring Sea and Sky, some of winter scenes and in this gallery the inland waterways and landscapes.
Arthur had three daughters; Teri, Karen and Nancy. Each has 2 pieces featuring them as children.Karen died tragically in 2010, Nancy and Teri were instrumental in making this gallery happen.
While the site celebrates Arthur as an artist, he existed at the unique crossroads of science and art. He was naturally an admirer of da Vinci, and pursued a career in engineering.
Whether it's the waves of the ocean or the waves of clouds rolling in, Art found these great subjects.
Art completed many works in this series, some quite large. He was inspired by articles in scientific publications about the creation of 'perfect' squares or Squared Squares.Everything from square size and colors were calculated mathematically.
These are some of his oldest works dating to his high school years in the 1950's.
This gallery encompasses a collection of winter scenes. Most if not all were conceived from a combination of imagination and photographic reference.
